Changing the Industry, One Woman at a Time.

One thing about the cruise industry that goes without saying: it’s one of the most forward thinking and rapidly evolving industries in the world. Not only is customer experience at the forefront of innovation, but also the professional experience – from building a more inclusive work environment to creating a positive impact on the world through sustainability.

This passion for continued industry advancement is evident in the increased number of women taking cruise leadership positions and their championing of emerging trends in sustainability, safety and technology. From cruise line presidents and executives to captains and bridge officers, there’s never been a greater rise in female cruise leadership than today.

Here at Seatrade, we celebrate this collaborative and colorful network of women and are excited to host for the first-time ever an all-female keynote panel with Christine Duffy, President, Carnival Cruise Line; Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises; Jan Swartz, President, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia; and moderator Lucy Hockings, BBC World News, News Presenter and Anchor.

We will also welcome back the popular Professional Women in Cruise Brunch. This year’s brunch will feature “Technology and Cruising… in Some Unexpected Places,” and delve into how technology can be used to enhance environmental compliance, crew welfare, and lifesaving and safety systems, as well as today’s modern cruise terminal design. Moderated by Anna Silva, Operations Supervisor for Port Everglades, panelists will include Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons, Founder and President, Total Marine Solutions (TMS),  Kate McCue, Captain, Celebrity Cruises, Tracy Murrell, VP Maritime Safety, DPA, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Anya Suriyaarachchi, Bermello Ajamil & Partners, and Lesley Warrick, Executive Director, Seafarers’ House.

So, whether its implementing onboard technology and environmental initiatives that increase sustainability or introducing new ways to give back to the communities they visit, Seatrade will showcase the innovations and efforts set forth by the women at the helm of cruising to create a more impactful and dynamic experience for the cruise industry.
